Cruise Roma und Cruise Barcelona die Flotte verstärken.

THE GRIMALDI GROUP
With a long experience dating back to 1947, the Grimaldi Group is specialised
in the operation of roll-on/roll-off vessels, car carriers and ferries.
It is a dedicated supplier of integrated logistics services based on
maritime transport to the world's major vehicle manufacturers. Through
its maritime services, the company also transports containers, palletised/unitised
cargo and passengers.
The expansion of Grimaldi Group in the Mediterranean Sea began in 1969
when it started a regular service between Italy and England, transporting
Fiat cars to the British market. The Group rapidly gained the trust
of other major car manufacturers who chose Grimaldi's vessels to transport
their production from North Europe to various Mediterranean countries.
Throughout the years the Group has rapidly developed and now serves
more than 120 ports in 45 countries in the Mediterranean Sea, North
Europe, West Africa, North America and South America. The shore personnel
and crew exceeds 7,000 throughout Europe, Africa, North and South America.
Currently the Group transports yearly over 1.40 million cars, 1.42
million rolling units, about 500,000 containers as well as over 740,000
passengers with its modern fleet of over 100 ro/ro multipurpose vessels,
pure car carriers and ferries (70 owned), 30 of which built in the
last seven years. Another 33 vessels (ro/ro multipurpose, car carriers,
cruise ferries), worth Euro 2 billion, are under construction and are
due to be delivered in 2007-2011.
The Grimaldi Group comprises seven main shipping companies, including
Atlantic Container Line (ACL), Malta Motorways of the Sea (MMS) and
Finnlines. With 51% of the shares, the Group is also the biggest stakeholder
in Finnlines, a Finnish company which runs a fleet of ro/pax and ro/ro
vessels in the Baltic Sea and North Europe as well as port terminals
in Finland and Norway. Moreover, the Group has recently purchased a
14% stake in the share capital of the greek ferry company ANEK Lines,
which operates ro/pax services between Italy and Greece as well as
between Piraeus and Crete.
Recently, the Grimaldi Group has also evolved to become a multimodal
transport operator offering "door to door" logistics services.
For this purpose, it currently operates, together with strategic
partners, 20 car and container terminals (totalling over 5 million
sq. metres)
in the Mediterranean Sea, North Europe and Africa as well as trucking
companies for the transport of cars and containers.
In the last years the Group has also invested in the development
of the Motorways of the Sea in the Mediterranean Sea introducing
new and
modern ro-pax ferries. Currently the Group's short sea network covers
Italy, Spain, France (through Grimaldi & Louis Dreyfus Lines),
Malta, Tunisia and Libya for the transport of trailers, cars and
passengers.
The high quality services offered by the Grimaldi Group have been
recognised by its international clientele. Among various acknowledgements,
the
Group has been given the "Supply of the Year" award by General
Motors in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, the "Land Rover
Best Supplier of the Year 2002" Award, the "Qualitas 2003" by
Fiat Auto and the "Q1 Award" by Ford Motor Company from
1999 to 2006.
Finally, the Grimaldi Group is the first italian shipping company
to have obtained the ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certifications.
